This is normally performed in a manual operation with hand held measurement equipment, and the data is then manually logged. This process is very subjective to the individual's unique habits, abilities and methods of using measurement equipment. It is also very time consuming.

Beta LaserMike provided BenchMike units with automatic recording software. The pipe manufacturer simply load a sample product onto the BenchMike, and the unit measures the OD, and calculates the ID and wall, and records the results.
Record keeping is now repeatable, accurate, and much less labor intensive.
