Case Study:
Medical molder, Closed loop, Isolate equipment from tower water, Roof mounted tower
Key Points:

This is a medical molder who was expanding their operation. Realizing that tower water can contaminate heat exchangers and molds without careful and overly expensive treatment, it was desirable to isolate the water that runs through the tower from the machinery and equipment in the plant.

Outdoor space for the tower stand was also an issue due to the location of the facility and the desire to maximize the available property square footage.

Problem
Advantage Engineering provided a "Closed Loop Tower Cell" solution. This type of system is designed to separate the tower water from the process water, protecting the processing machinery and equipment. Plate and frame heat exchangers were used for separating the tower and process sides because of the efficient heat transfer characteristics of this type of heat exchanger.

The tower was installed on the roof, directly above the tank so that it could drain directly down into the tank.

Solution
Closed Loop Tower Cell
