This is a pipe extrusion line using one extruder to produce two lines of pipe. Maintaining the tolerances required was labor intensive, and when checking the pipe at the end of the line, there was a large amount of scrap being produced over the length of the line before the errors were found and adjustments could be made and then rechecked.

Implimenting the Beta LaserMike system which uses the patented "Snap" technology, simplifies the set up of the Ultrasonic system. The ability to place the gauging system in-line, closer to the die, minimizes the distance from the die to the QC point, and minimizes the time for concentricity and OD adjustments. The system automatically adjusts for wall thickness, eliminating the need to manually check and adjust for this dimension.
